How to create a reusable food menu

A menu — called a bucket in the app — is the list of items your group orders from. You build it once, and every future order round starts from it instead of from a blank page. This guide walks through creating one, pricing it correctly, and preparing it for sharing.

1. Create the menu

Open Buckets from the navigation and choose Create bucket. Give it the name people will recognise — usually the restaurant or the occasion, such as "Friday shawarma" or "Office lunch".

A menu belongs to you. Nobody else can see it until you share it, and sharing is a separate deliberate step covered in the next guide.

2. Add items and prices

Add each item with its unit price. Prices are stored in the currency you selected in Settings, and they are per unit — the app multiplies by quantity when people order.

Keep item names short and specific. "Chicken shawarma — large" is easier for six people to pick from a phone than "Sandwich option 2". If the restaurant changes a price, edit the item and every future round uses the new figure.

You can leave a price at zero while you are still building the menu. Zero shows as a placeholder rather than a real amount, so an unfinished item is obvious rather than silently free.

3. Set fees once

VAT, service charge, and delivery are configured on the menu itself, not on each order. Set them once and every round built from this menu applies them the same way.

Delivery can be split equally between everyone or in proportion to what each person ordered. Choose proportional when one person orders far more than the rest and equal when the group prefers simplicity.

4. Reuse it

Once the menu exists, ordering again is a matter of starting a new round from it. The items, prices, and fee policy come along, and the people you shared it with are still attached.

If you need a variant — a second branch with different prices, say — duplicate the menu and edit the copy. The original is untouched.
